SIZES and TENSIONS

Before beginning a new knitting project it is important to consider which size to make. The measurements given in the pattern are for the finished model. Some models are designed to have a looser fit while others are more close-fitting. It can be helpful to measure a garment one feels comfortable wearing and then compare with the measurements given for the sizes in the pattern.

When knitting for children it is important to measure a garment that fits the child well before deciding which size to knit. Children differ greatly in size within the same age group.
