Size guide
Mikala Sweater is designed to have approx. 12-18 cm [4.75-7”] of positive ease. The sweater is shown with approx. 18 cm [7”] of positive ease. Find your personal bust circumference by measuring around your chest (or the largest part of your upper body). Then look at the measurements above (these are the finished measurements of the sweater). Positive ease is the difference between your personal measurement and the sweater’s measurement. For example, if your bust circumference is 94 cm [37”], a size M will give you a positive ease of 14 cm [5.5”] (108 cm – 94 cm = 14 cm) [42.5”- 37” = 5.5”]

CONSTRUCTION
Mikala sweater is worked from the top down. The neckband is added last. At first a section is worked with the main color, where the neckline is shaped using short rows – first across each sleeve, then along each front section. Raglan increases are worked at the same time as the short rows. The yoke is then worked in the round in pattern with raglan increases, before the body and sleeves are worked separately. All the colorwork is worked in the round from the right side.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER'S INSPIRATION AND DESIGN PROCESS
Lene Holme Samsøe (Le Knit) writes about the design:
I was immediately drawn to the graphic expression in Marianne’s design “Tværs” when I saw it in the binder in Tversted. The combination of pattern and stripes made it intriguing, and the motif stood out clearly in black and white.
So, at the beginning of the process, I wanted to stay true to the pattern and focus mainly on the shape. I knitted half a sweater before realizing that I wanted to open up the pattern and give it a softer expression. I chose to do it by scaling down the pattern and adding more of the main color.
This gave the pattern an unexpected vibe of Nordic knitting tradition. I decided to follow that vibe. So, the Mikala Sweater is my interpretation of an understated fisherman’s sweater, featuring a pattern that leaves plenty of room for interesting color combinations.
ABOUT ISAGER ARCHIVES 2 - COLLECTION
This collection is inspired by Marianne Isagers many designs from the 80s and 90s. 15 of Denmark’s most talented knitwear designers have spent a weekend with us in Tversted, with access to Marianne’s substantial collection of patterns. The designers have used one or more patterns as inspiration for their respective contributions to the Isager Archives 2 collection.
