BRING ON THE NIGHT

Sleeve:
End by picking up and knitting 12 (15) sts across the last square = 104 (118) sts. Work back and forth in intarsia as before with squares that alternate betw having RS and WS facing and work cols according to diagram. On every 4th row cast off 1 st at both sides by knitting 2 sts tog just inside the first and last edge sts. Cont to dec until 52 (62) sts rem on row and sleeve measures 40 – 43 cm or desired length. On the larger size dec evenly space to 52 sts by knitting 2 sts tog for approx. every 6 sts.

Cont in patt as set with increases on both sides of raglan sts on every RS row (= plus 8 sts on each RS row), until a total of 16 (18: 20) ’cables’ have been worked on front edges. 422 (454: 486) sts.

THE ENGLISH PATIENT

STRIPE, page 4:
Change to col 23s. * Kfb in first st and knit to top st = centre st. M1 on both sides of the top st and again Kfb in last st. Knit back *. Rep from * to * until 3 garter ridges have been worked = 6 rows in col 23s. Cont with col 32s and work 17 ridges. Then work 1 ridge with col 52s and 3 ridges with col 23s. 

TRIANGLE 17:
Work 3 garter ridges = 6 rows as before. Make 1 new st at beg and end of every RS row and knit 2 sts tog on both sides of centre st at top of square 7. Change to col 32s. When 8 ridges = 16 rows (half of stripe) have been worked with col 32s, now K2tog at beg of each row until a total of 16 ridges have been worked. Cont with the dec at beg and end of every RS row and on both sides of the centre st, but work 1 ridge with col 52s and 3 ridges with col 23s. row until a total of 16 ridges have been worked. TORHILD’S SQUARES

FRONT
Cast on 12 sts for neck edge.
Inside the 12 edge sts dec 1 st (K2tog tbl) on every RS row 20 times in total = 40 rows worked. Also make a horizontal stripe with col B on the edge – this is placed after the first 9 sts and 3 sts above the dec and inc.
After last dec work 26 rows straight. Now inc on every RS row (M1) 20 times in total. There are now 127 + 13 sts on row. Cast off neck edge’s 12 sts (the one st in col B is cast off as on sample) and set front aside, while working back.
BACK
Cast on 12 for neck edge in continuation of back’s sts and as on front add a stripe in col B, 9 sts in and 3 sts over dec and inc.
Dec inside the 12 edge sts on every 6th row 4 times. Work 58 rows straight, and now inc where before dec were made = on every 6th row, to 127 + 13 sts.
