New single pattern
Virginia
In 2021 the Virginia pattern was featured in the Japanese magazine AMIRISU. Now, one year later we have the right to launch it as single pattern.
Helga Isager was inspired by the earthy colours and loose silhouettes from the wardrobe of Virginia Wolf (Nicole Kidman) in the movie ‘The Hours’ from 2002.

The sweater is knitted in Isager Merilin and Isager Silk Mohair and is worked from the bottom up in the round. The sweater has a simple Slip Stitch pattern with Stockinette stitch sections worked in Jensen Yarn. The slip stitch technique is an easy way to create colourwork while only needing to handle a single colour at a time.
First the body and then the sleeves are worked in the round to the armholes.
At the armholes, body and sleeves are joined for the yoke, which is worked in the round with decreases between the sections in pattern. The top of the yoke is worked back and forth, while stitches are bound off to shape the neckline. After this, a collar is worked, starting with a repeat of the pattern and ending with rib.
