CONSTRUCTION NOTES

The garment is knitted in pieces from top to bottom. Begin the Front with one shoulder and then knit the second shoulder piece. Stitches between the two shoulder pieces are introduced for the center section and then the Front is worked to the underarm. The Front is set aside and the Back is begun by picking up stitches along the shoulder pieces of the Front and the center section stitches of the Back are cast on. The Back is worked to the underarm. From here on, the Front and Back are joined and worked on a circular needle in the round until the garment reaches the desired length.

A KNITTING LIFE – BACK TO TVERSTED

The book ‘A Knitting Life – Back to Tversted’ is a book about Marianne Isager’s first 20 years as a knitwear designer and as owner of the yarn company, ISAGER. Marianne tells about her inheritance from Åse Lund Jensen and about her efforts to combine family life and knitting life in the small village of Tversted.
The book contains stories and pictures from the 70s and 80s, and 15 new patterns with knitting instructions using the same techniques seen in designs from the two decades.

The book is available in Danish and English. The Danish title is: ET STRIKKELIV – TILBAGE TIL TVERSTED

Patterns in the book: Barbara, Barbara top, Braids, Chess, Easy, Gaudi, Honeymoon, Horseshoe, Jacquard, Newspaper, Scottish Check, Squares, Triangles, Twisted Cables og Wings to fly.
