SEEKNIT knitting needles are crafted of high-quality Japanese bamboo. All circular needles feature a flexible rotating joint between cord and needle which provides comfort in use and prevents damage of the cord and twisting of your work.

The Isager shop offers the superior Koshitsu line. Koshitsu refers to a special, ancient treatment that provides a longer durability of the bamboo, carefully chosen. The koshitsu treatment of the product makes a harder and stronger surface, and at the same time the natural, smooth feel of the bamboo is preserved.

The koshitsu treatment begins by choosing the finest bamboo and soaking it in a herbal bath, the recipe of which is a family secret. Next, the still wet bamboo undergoes a high temperature and high-pressure treatment that darkens the colour of the bamboo and gives the Koshitsu needles its brown tint. The benefit of this process is longer durability and a comfortable smooth, soft surface of the needles that makes the work slide better and thus prevents tenseness in hands and arms.

Only bamboo of good quality becomes stronger. Bamboo products of poor quality become hard or dry and crisp which is quickly revealed when used. We highly recommend the Koshitsu knitting neddles from Seeknit. The high quality is evident, based on ancient knowledge and proud Japanese traditions.

ABOUT SEEKNIT

SEEKNIT is the oldest manufacturer of bamboo knitting needles in Japan. The factory is found in the old Nara prefecture, and since the 1300s this is where the finest bamboo grew and was harvested. Today, it is still used for knitting needles.

Soon, the fourth generation will take over the company with its proud traditions of craftmanship and high-quality products.

The bamboo used for the SEEKNIT-neddels is carefully chosen, and only bamboo from special plantations in the Nara prefect is used. This provides a unique durable quality, and knitting needles that only becomes better over time.
