Following colours are used in the model:

Silk Mohair col: 49, 19, 64, 65

The original model is knitted in Tvinni and Silk Mohair. The model presents a lot of options for color mixing and using the leftovers one may have in their stash. An alternative for Tvinni is Highland which also fits the gauge.
If the many colors does not speak to you, we have also made a color proposal using grey tones.

For the grey version the following colours are used:
Tvinni col: 2s, 3s, 4s, 60, 8s
Silk Mohair: 2s, 3s, 47, 60

Marianne writes about the film JU DOU:
“The film takes place in Old China, in a dye shop that dyes long webs of fabric in red and yellow nuances. The pictures are amazing, and the main character, played by Gong Li, I have enjoyed in many films. In the film she is married to the old Dye Master who is both violent and cross. The Dye Master’s nephew takes work in the dye shop and falls in love with the beautiful woman. They end up having an erotic, secret and very intense relationship, resulting in a child that the old Dye Master of course believes is his. The film is filled with passion, drama and violent events which, in a way, is in complete contrast to the light, colourful sweater that came out of my inspiration from the film, but life is not black and white, and the film is so colourful and beautiful that I had to use the whole palette.”

ISAGER BOUCLÉ is a thin bouclé yarn of 100% alpaca. This loopy yarn offers a fantastic structure when combined with the flatter yarns of wool, but used alone and knitted on fine needles the result is a nice and interesting fabric. The yarn was launched in only a few colours, but new colours will now be added to the shade card. This allows for beautiful colour combinations with other of our yarns.

The new colours are: 11, 28, 30, 37, 47, 56, 62

Specifications: 100% alpaca. Meterage is 350 m (382 yds) / 100gr.

Initially, ISAGER PALET was a spray-dyed yarn with multiple dots in beautiful hues. The yarn was mainly used as an effect yarn, and with great results it was held together with Silk Mohair or other of our summer yarns, e.g. Trio, Japansk Bomuld, Alpaca 1 or Hør Organic. Unfortunately, it proved that the colour could be rather different within the same dye lot, – well, even within the same skein. This colour change had no significance when knitting in stripes or when using the yarn as an effect yarn. But when used as a main colour, a blouse could have a visible and unintended colour change that resulted in complaints from customers. We have chosen to keep this wonderful 100% cotton yarn and are now introducing new colours that are based on the Trio-shades. Isager Palet has a matte finish and can be knitted alone or held together with other ISAGER yarns. This ribbon-spun yarn provides a beautiful effect in the knitted fabric.

The new colours are: Blush, Bottle Green, Camel, Frost, Granite, Green Tea, Indigo, Ink, Linen, Navy, Nougat, Powder, Sage, White

Specifications: 100% cotton. Meterage is 320 m (348 yds) in 100gr.

ISAGER SOFT is a tube yarn of cotton in which alpaca fibres are infused and it can only be produced as a thick yarn. ISAGER SOFT FINE has a core of silk on which a strand of alpaca and yak is added as a loopy bouclé, which is then finally brushed to make a fluffy yarn. Even if the production and the fibres are different to Isager Soft, we find quite a similarity in the textures of the two yarns. ISAGER SOFT FINE contains wool from yaks and the depth of the colours derives from the dark colour of the yak wool, – exactly as we know from the S-colours of white and black wool. Its softness compares to Silk Mohair, knitting with this yarn, however, is a completely different experience, especially when knitting with one strand only. The yarn is unbelievable soft and our inhouse-name for this yarn is ‘Isager’s cashmere’.

Once again, Helga Isager has invited some of Denmark’s most talented knitwear designers to participate in a collaborative collection. This time, the inspiration for the collection is drawn from Isager’s archive of Åse Lund Jensen’s patterns from the 1960s and 1970s.

We are greatly impressed by how each designer has interpreted Åse’s models and proud of how each design in this collection is deeply rooted in Isager’s heritage.

RET, RIB OG PATENT has now been republished with new photos. In this new edition the suggested yarn is Alpaca 3. We love the beautiful softness and lightness that this yarn brings to this new version, whereas the yarn used in the original pattern made a heavier garment. RET, RIB OG PATENT is a one-size model, but for a smaller size it can be knitted in Isager Jensen Yarn.

It wasn’t until the 1990s that Marianne Isager truly began exploring the world. In this book we follow Marianne on her travels to Latin America, Africa, Greenland, and Nepal. Not just the patterns of textile, baskets and pottery, but also architecture, landscapes and all of those wonders that will fill your mind and soul when you first visit a new place and ex-perience the traditions, the food, the people, and the history of the country creeping into the core of your body. As in the first book a number of her previous and most significant designs are presented, many of which reflected the fashion of the day. This book also contains 16 new designs with knitting instructions based on the inspiration from her travels, all of them combining craftmanship and yarn of high quality.
