Eco Kids Collection

Eco Kids Collection

Since the Isager Hør Organic Collection proved to be quite popular, we decided again to invite other knit designers to make each a design in our new yarns, Eco Baby and Eco Soft. The outcome is seven beautiful but rather different sweaters.

BADGER is designed by Anne Ventzel and inspired by traditional Icelandic knitwear. The sweater is worked top down on circular needles and knitted in Isager Eco Soft. The pattern offers two colourways and must be ordered directly with Anne Ventzel: www.anneventzel.com

Eco Baby and Eco Soft

Eco Soft and Eco Baby

The idea for these two new yarns arose last summer when more and more beginners visited our shop. I realized that a yarn was missing which could be knitted on large needle sizes with one strand only. And yes – we do have alpaca 3, but even this yarn can be difficult to knit from if you are at beginner’s level. I was very happy to receive the samples from our supplier in Peru and started the test knitting right away. I liked both samples very much and 5 natural colours of each yarn have been chosen.

Like the Alpaca 1 and 2 Eco-yarns, both new yarns are undyed and only available in the natural colours of the alpaca wool: dark grey, light grey, raw white, light beige and brown.

– Marianne Isager

ISAGER ECO SOFT consists of 56% Alpaca and 44% Organic Pima Cotton. Meterage is 125 m in 50g and can be knitted on needle sizes 5.5 – 6 mm. Eco Soft could be the perfect replacement yarn for sweaters knitted on the same needle size and from Silk Mohair held together with a different yarn. The perferct choice for knitters, who prefer knitting with one strand only but still would like the furry look. The colours are natural, undyed colours.

ISAGER ECO BABY consists of 68% Baby Alpaca and 32% Organic Pima Cotton. Meterage is 150 m in 50 g, and it is knitted on needle size 4 – 5. This very soft yarn is well suited for babies and the smaller children. The ECO BABY  colours are natural colours and since the yarn has no chemical treatment from a dyeing process, it is also well suited for people with sensitive skins or who are allergic to wool.

Field

New Merilin Collection

The first design is FIELD, a simple blouse with raglan sleeves. The blouse is worked from the top down with raglan increases on the yoke to make a good fitting. The blouse can be knitted in two different Merilin colours. However, and as shown in the picture, one of the stripes can be knitted in Alpaca 1, col. 33/Trio, col. Nougat. This makes a beautiful play of colour and a nice texture which is kind to your skin.

The finished blouse is turned ‘inside out’, so wrongside of the stockinette stitch is facing outward. The way the neckline is sewn in place makes both sides look nice, and ensures that the blouse can be worn with both the Right Side and the Wrong Side out.

The pattern is available in the webshop in Danish, English and German.
