New colours in Silk Mohair and Highland

Silk Mohair and Highland

We have added four beautiful shades of blue to the Silk Mohair colour palette: 54, 16, 11 and 2s. The colours are already available in Tvinni, Spinni and Jensen Yarn, and combines beautifully with the new Silk Mohair colours.

The Highland colour palette has also been added four new colours: Paprika, Hay, Desert and Navy. The colours offers new combinations with Silk Mohair and Alpaca 1. We also like the four new colours in a combination, they could be beautiful in a striped sweater.

Isager Bouclé

Isager Bouclé

Marianne says:
Many years ago, I had a bouclé yarn in the collection. I liked the structure of the yarn, but I never really figured out how to use it. Since then, I have often felt tempted to get bouclé back into our collection. When we visited Peru in the fall of 2022, our supplier showed me different versions in 100 % Alpaca. I have been ‘playing’ with it during the winter in the swatches for my new book and now it is suddenly difficult not to include it in every model. Our new Bouclé yarn consist of 100 % Alpaca and has the same gauge as Isager Jensen Yarn, but this of course changes depending on what technique is used. I very much hope that you will be just as fond of this yarn as I am.

Eco Melange

Isager Eco Melange

Eco Melange

It was primarily the fine structure of the yarn that appealed to us. The soft core of Baby Alpaca inside a thin web of Fine Merino Wool make a super soft yarn, that is easy to knit with on fine knitting needles. The perfect yarn for beginners.
Suggestion for an easy project would be knitting a scarf, starting with casting on 2 stitches, and continuing in garter stitch increases are made at the beginning and end of each row. Other suggestions are EASY pullover and BARBARA Sweater from “A Knitting Life”.

Easy could be knitted in Jensen Yarn or Alpaca 3 as colour A, and one strand of Eco Melange as colour B; in regards to the Barbara pattern, Eco Melange could replace Isager Tweed.

In Marianne Isager’s next book she will use the yarn especially for designs with Fair Isle patterns.

The gauge for Eco Melange held together with Isager Tvinnni:
3mm needles: 28 stitches = 10 cm
3,5mm needles: 26 stitches = 10 cm

Brick sweater

Brick sweater

The design is slightly cropped with a wide silhouette. Back and front are worked back and forth in one piece. First the back is worked from the bottom up. From the bottom of the armholes and up, a rib edge is worked along both edges. The rib stitches are set aside to rest, while short rows are worked to shape the shoulders and then the rib stitches are knitted together with the shoulder stitches. After this, stitches are picked up and knitted along the rib, the neckline is shaped, and the front is worked. At the end, stitches are picked up and knitted along the armholes for the sleeves, which are worked down from here. Short rows are worked to shape the top of the sleeve and the sleeves are worked back and forth.

The side and sleeve seams are sewn together at the end.

The sweater is worked in 1 strand of Isager Eco Soft and 1 strand of Isager Spinni held together throughout. The Spinni colour is changed to form the stripes, while the same colour of Eco Soft is used through the whole sweater. If you have Spinni remnants these can of course be used keeping in mind, that for the best result the contrast between the Eco Soft and the Spinni colours must be significant.

The pattern consists of stripes that are 8 rows wide. Every other stripe is worked in 2 different Spinni colours using the intarsia colourwork technique.

Sunshine beanie

Sunshine beanie

Helga writes about the beanie:

I wanted to knit a hat for Ingrid in Isager Sock Yarn, and she chose the colour yellow. My idea was to test if Isager Sock Yarn would be suitable for other projects than socks – and it definitely is!

I knitted the Sunshine Beanie with two stands of Isager Sock Yarn on needle size 3.5 mm. While knitting the beanie, the fabric may seem a bit dense, but when it has been washed it becomes softer and keeps the shape very well. The beanie can be knitted in two versions: either with a K1-P1 rib and an eyelet pattern (as shown in the picture) or knitted in a K2-P2 ribbing throughout the work.
My husband loves to wear his K2-P2 version in colour 37 and the next beanie will be for myself, and the colours to choose from are many.

New colours Isager Jensen Yarn

Isager Jensen Yarn

For years talented knitwear designer Camilla Vad has had her own yarn, spun at Skive Uldspinderi in a unique colour range. Now she mostly lives in Singapore with her family, and she has decided to concentrate on knitwear design only.

Camilla Vad Lambswool 9/13 has the same gauge as Isager Jensen Yarn, and we were thrilled when Camilla offered us the chance to include her yarn in our yarn range, and this way enabling her to still selling the patterns for her beautiful Nordic inspired designs.

This means that 23 new colours will be added to our Jensen Yarn shade card, recognized by the numbers from 80 – 99 and colours 0s, 4m, 19 and 42.

Camilla’s yarn numbers have been changed, but her knitting patterns will be amended and the colours will thus be the same.

Camilla Vad’s knitting patterns can be purchased on Ravelry.
