AT THE SAME TIME,
Start the increases on each side every 6th (6th, 6th, 4th, 4th) row by working a twisted increase after the first selvedge stitch (e.g., M1L) at the beginning of the row and before the last selvedge stitch (e.g., M1R) at the end of the row. There should be 18 (17, 17, 20, 24) increased stitches on each side as follows:
Size S: 18 x 6 = 108 rows = 37 cm in length
Size M: 17 x 6 = 102 rows = 35 cm in length
Size L: 17 x 6 = 102 rows = 35 cm in length
Size XL: 20 x 4 = 80 rows = 34 cm in length
Size XXL: 24 x 4 = 96 rows = 33 cm in length
If longer sleeve lengths are desired, the extra length should be worked before beginning the increases as described above.

Now, cast on stitches at each side making sure that they occur in the correct orientation for the RS facing. Once the new side stitches are cast on, the first and last 7 stitches will be worked in garter stitch, while the other stiches maintain the 7-row stripe pattern. To do this, work the sleeve stitches in pattern and then cast on 69 (68, 79, 86, 93) stitches on the needle. Then, work back over all the stitches in pattern and then cast on 69 (68, 79, 86, 93) stitches on the other side. There are now a total of 220 (220, 244, 242, 286) stitches on the needle and the length measures 50 (50, 55, 65, 65) cm. Continue in established pattern stripes or garter ridges at the 7 stitches of each hem over all stitches and work 15 (17.5, 20, 22.5, 25) cm for the shoulder.
